Cross wavers between Una, the true love and Duessa, the false love. Una is
stead fast and her devotion to Red Cross is constant and clear. Red Cross has
affection for Una, but before it can flourish love, it is put into trouble by
Archimago when he manouvres a dream for Red Cross in which Red Cross is filled
with sexual passions. Then he finds the false Una in his bed in an amorous
mood. His fervent idealism gets a rude jolt. Further when he sees the false Una
sleeping with a young man his mind is filled with loathing and mistrust
