Analyse ‘The Good Morrow’ as a Metaphysical love poem.

“The Good Morrow” is one of the best known poems of Donne in which some of the conceits or features of metaphysical poetry are clearly reflected. “The Good Morrow” is a love poem that suggests the difference between life of love and life without love and emphasizes the significance of the life of love. He here utilizes the scholastic theory of St. Thomas Acquinas. He lays down a condition that ensures the permanence of love and that condition is mutuality. The permanence of love, attained through mutuality, is a noble idea and it is a typical characteristic of metaphysical love poetry.
